Now in the Sound settings, you will see the option of selecting the output and input devices. There select “Headphones (SteelSeries Arctis 5 game)” as output and “Microphones (SteelSeries Arctis 5 Chat) as input devices. Now check if the problem is still there or not.
Restart the computer before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting actions below. This action refreshes the operating system and removes the corrupted temporary data that could be causing the problem.
Several factors can cause this particular problem, ranging from muting the microphone to choosing the wrong device. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.
Disconnect the microphone
In this case, first make sure that the microphone settings are not disabled. There is a button on the left ear of the headset. If this button is not pressed, the microphone is muted. You can check again when the red light on the microphone comes on. Don’t forget to click this button.

The sound card that the headset connects to has a slider at the top with settings for playback and chat. If the button is set until the end of the game, you will not be able to hear the voices of your teammates. Move this slider to the middle and check if the Arctis 5’s microphone still has a problem.
SteelSeries Motor Adjustment
By default, you can use this headset without installing any software, but if you use the SteelSeries engine, you have more control over the device.

- Open Setup and install motor.
- Open the SteelSeriesengine, now disconnect the headset from the computer and connect it again.
- Once the engine has detected your headset, click on the displayed device name Device name .
- The device configuration opens, click Live Mic Preview.
- Now, take the microphone and try to talk. If the microphone is connected, you can hear each other.
- Adjust the settings to your liking and minimize the question.

- Right-click the Volume icon in the lower right corner.
- Select Open Audio Settings .
- Under Sound , select the output device as Headset (SteelSeries Arctis Game) and the input device as Microphone (SteelSeries Arctis 5 Chat).

Noise level adjustment
- Right-click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
- Select Sounds and open tab Recording .
- Double-click on SteelSeries Arctis 5 Cat .
- On the Levels tab, make sure the volume is greater than 50%.
